| UKRAINE ADOPTION| AVAILABLE CHILDREN Our Ukraine Adoption program offers beautiful children with a variety of skin tones and hair color from orphanages throughout the country. Children are available for adoption from 14 months of age up to 15 years old. In general, children are without medical problems. Special needs children and sibling groups are also available. Two unrelated children may be placed together at the same time. |
| You begin your Ukraine Adoption process by collecting the documents required for a Dossier. Ukraine State Department for Adoption (SDA) processes and approves your adoption dossier. After receiving an invitation to travel, preparations are made for the trip. Once everything is completed and approved, families will travel to Ukraine to choose their child(ren). Both parents are required to travel to meet the child(ren). You will begin a 3-4 week trip to Ukraine about 2-5 months after your Ukraine adoption dossier is submitted to State Department for Adoption (SDA) in Kiev. Your Ukraine adoption process in Ukraine begins in Kiev. There you will visit the State Department for Adoption (SDA). You will then travel to the region where the child lives to spend time with the child. Once in the region, you may review the child's medical information and available family history. After meeting a child personally, you will sign required papers, and Ukrainian coordinator will file the necessary paperwork with the court. If you decide to adopt the child, court proceedings will usually begin within a week. Ukrainian associates will take care of the child’s paperwork, accompany you to your child’s medical examination, and assist in obtaining a US visa for your child. Once a visa is received, families may return home. |
| The uniqueness of the Ukraine Adoption program is that adoptive parents are able to choose the child they wish to adopt while in Ukraine. The State Department for Adoption and Protection of Rights of the Child (SDAPRC) does not send “referral” or match a child to the parents or in any court to adopt the child. Information about medical histories of the children and other pertinent information will be available at the orphanage during selection of the children. |
