The Republic of Poland is an Eastern European country, bordering by Ukraine, Russia, Lithuania, Belarus, Slovakia, the Czech Republic
and Germany to the west, the Baltic Sea to the north gives it easy access to Scandinavian and North Sea ports. Warsaw is the capital
of Poland is situated in the center of the country.
Poland Adoption | ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTIVE PARENTS

Nothing in Polish law states the age requirements of adoptive parents. In practice, however,
mothers may be up to 40 years older than the child, and fathers up to 45 years older. Single
people and non-Catholics can also adopt in Poland. There are no Polish residency requirements
for prospective adoptive parents.  
   

Children available for adoption in Poland are siblings, preschool and school age. Younger children
are sometimes available however can be longer waiting time for referral. Adoptive parents able
to choose the child they wish to adopt. Both boys and girls are available for adoption. In general,
children are healthy. Health records, school reports, and social history available. Additional
medical exams can be arranged. The children are well cared and reside in state orphanages.
Adoptive Center favorably considers cases in which the child may be difficult to adopt in Poland,
such as children with special needs***, a sibling group, or an older child.
Children with medical conditions, including infants and toddlers, are almost always immediately
assigned upon approval of the Adoption Petition. The Hungarian government realizes that
America's health care system is technically advanced and gives the child the best opportunity of
having his/her condition medically corrected, cured or stabilized
.

Polish adoption procedures are complicated, time consuming, and often require professional legal guidance. Our competent lawyer will
handle many of the legal formalities in Poland. The time from accepting a referral to finalization of the adoption averages 3 to 7
months. There is a 21-day appeal period between the time of the final adoption hearing and the time the court’s decision goes into legal
force. At the judge’s discretion, this appeal period might be shortened to 14 days. In general, prospective adoptive parents can expect
to stay in Poland for at least 3 to 5 weeks before they can obtain all proper documentation and a new passport for the child. Two trips
to Poland may sometimes be necessary before all Poland adoption requirements are completed.
Poland Adoption | TRAVEL TO POLAND

Both parents must initially travel to Poland to bond with the child and attend court proceedings. Adoption in Poland takes several weeks.
The length of time varies upon local court decisions. Many families choose to make two trips. During your first trip, you will have a
meeting with your child and orphanage staff, and appear in court to obtain temporary custody. This trip is generally seven to ten
business days. Your Poland adoption finalized on your second trip. The second trip to Poland is three to seven business days long.
